Jack the Ripper: Dear Boss and From Hell Letters

In 1888, London’s East End met “Jack the Ripper”, AKA “Leather Apron.”  Although Jack wasn’t the world’s first serial killer, he was the first to captivate the public’s attention by his cunning, ferocity, and inability to get caught.

Here are Jack’s two infamous letters sent to the media and the authorities.  The first letter, known as the “Dear Boss” letter was most likely not written by Jack, but instead from someone within the media to cultivate the story.  The second letter, known as the “From Hell” letter, most likely did come from the killer, as he also sent part of his victim’s kidney.
